iScaleLabs gmail-access Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Plain-English summary

iScaleLabs gmail-access is a private, internal tool. It lets the owner of iScaleLabs read and tidy his own Gmail accounts from his own computers. It is not offered to the public, and no one else's mailbox is connected to it. We never sell or share mail data, we keep no copy of the mailbox, and access can be revoked at any time.

What the tool is

iScaleLabs gmail-access is a command-line tool that runs only on computers owned by the owner of iScaleLabs. It connects to Gmail through Google's official Gmail API, using the Google OAuth app named iScaleLabs gmail-access.

Only Gmail accounts that belong to the owner of iScaleLabs are connected, and he connects each one himself on Google's own sign-in screen. The tool has no public sign-up, no website login, and no other users.

What it can access

The tool asks Google for one permission: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.modify (Gmail "modify"). For each connected account, that permission lets the tool:

  • Read and search messages, including senders, recipients, subjects, dates, and message content.
  • Organize messages: mark them read, label them, archive them, or move them to Trash and back.
  • Draft and send email. The tool drafts or sends a message only when the owner asks it to.

It cannot permanently delete mail, because that needs a broader permission the tool does not request. It does not access Google Contacts, Calendar, Drive, or any other Google service.

How the data is used

Mail data is used for one purpose: helping the owner manage his own inbox. That means finding important messages, summarizing them for him, spotting junk, and clearing it out.

iScaleLabs never uses mail data for advertising, never sells it, never uses it to build profiles of anyone or to make credit or lending decisions, and never uses it to train or improve general-purpose AI or machine-learning models.

Who can see it

  • The owner of iScaleLabs, whose mail it is.
  • AI assistants the owner runs on his own computers (for example Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI's Codex, or xAI's Grok). When he asks one of them to work on his inbox, the assistant reads the search results and messages it needs for that request. That text is processed by the assistant's provider under the owner's own account and that provider's terms.
  • No one else. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share mail data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party.

What is stored

  • No copy of the mailbox. Mail stays in Gmail. The tool keeps no database of messages, and there is no iScaleLabs server behind it.
  • Sign-in tokens stay on the owner's computers. The OAuth client file and Google's access and refresh tokens are saved in the owner's local user profile on each computer that runs the tool. They are never published on a website, placed in a shared folder, or committed to a code repository.
  • Local logs and notes. What the tool prints, such as message counts, senders, subject lines, or a short summary, can be kept in the owner's private logs and notes for as long as he keeps them. Nothing else is stored.

Security

Mail travels directly from Google to the owner's computer over encrypted HTTPS. Tokens are stored only on computers the owner controls, and the tool asks for no more access than its job needs.

How to revoke access

  • Open myaccount.google.com/permissions while signed in to the Gmail account, choose iScaleLabs gmail-access, and remove its access. The tool stops working for that account right away.
  • Deleting the saved token file on a computer also ends access from that computer.

Google API Services User Data Policy
