iScaleMerch Privacy Policy

All of the following is stored locally in your own browser, using Chrome's extension storage and IndexedDB. None of it is transmitted anywhere.

• Scan results and workspace data — the ASINs, titles, brands, prices, BSR values, and dates gathered from Amazon pages during a scan, grouped by the keyword you searched.
• Local CSV log — listings recorded as you browse Amazon normally, so the workspace can show what you have already seen.
• Your settings — filter toggles, relevance threshold, sort preferences, scan delay and automation settings, and your chosen CSV download folder name.
• Your licensed-brand list — including any brands you add yourself.
• Imported CSV files — when you load CSVs into the workspace, their contents are read locally into the workspace.

The extension requests the unlimitedStorage permission so large workspaces can be saved without hitting Chrome's default storage cap. This increases how much can be stored on your own device and involves no transmission.

Only two things, and neither goes to us.

1. Requests to Amazon. To read search results and product details, the extension requests pages from Amazon using your browser's existing Amazon session, exactly as your browser would if you clicked the same links yourself. Amazon sees this activity the same way it sees your normal browsing. We do not add identifiers, and we receive nothing.

2. Sending a prompt to ChatGPT, only when you ask. The "Ask GPT" and "Phrase Investigator" buttons send research text to OpenAI. Specifically: when you click one, the extension builds a prompt that includes the keywords or phrases you selected, opens the relevant custom GPT at chatgpt.com in a new tab, and submits that prompt automatically under your own ChatGPT account.

This only ever happens on your click — the extension never sends anything to ChatGPT on its own, and the prompt is passed through extension-private storage rather than the URL so no web page can trigger or read it. Once submitted, the conversation is yours and OpenAI's, governed by OpenAI's privacy policy. We receive nothing, and the extension does not read your ChatGPT account or your existing conversations.

If you would rather no research text reach OpenAI, simply do not use those two buttons. Every other feature works without them.

The extension makes no other network requests. It contains no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party trackers.

There is no backend. iScaleMerch has no server, no database, no account system, and no analytics endpoint. The extension has nowhere to send your research even if it were told to — the build contains no code path that transmits it to us.

• We cannot sell or share your data — we never possess it in the first place.
• We cannot profile you — we have no way of knowing you installed the extension, let alone what you research.
• We cannot lose your data in a breach — there is no server to breach. Your data is exactly as secure as your own device.
• We cannot use your data for advertising, credit, lending, or anything else — using data requires having it.

The single, deliberate exception is described above: when you click "Ask GPT" or "Phrase Investigator", the keywords you selected go to your own ChatGPT account — to OpenAI, never to us.

• sidePanel — shows the research panel beside Amazon.
• activeTab — lets the toolbar act on the Amazon tab you are currently using.
• scripting — re-attaches the toolbar to an Amazon tab that was already open when the extension is reloaded or updated.
• storage — saves your settings, scans, and workspace on your device.
• unlimitedStorage — lets large workspaces save without hitting Chrome's storage cap. Local only.
• tabs — opens or focuses an Amazon tab when you use the panel.
• alarms — keeps the scan queue's timer reliable if the tab sleeps or the browser restarts.
• downloads — saves CSV exports to your Downloads folder, in the subfolder you choose.
• offscreen — builds large CSV files for download. Chrome's service workers cannot do this directly, so an offscreen document handles it locally.
• Amazon site access — reads Amazon search and product pages to gather research data (amazon.com, .co.uk, .de, .fr, .it, .es, .co.jp). This is the extension's core function.
• chatgpt.com site access — fills and submits the prompt when you use "Ask GPT". Nothing is read or collected from ChatGPT.

• Clear log in the side panel removes the locally saved browsing rows, including the copies loaded into your workspace.
• Delete a scan removes that scan and its results from the workspace.
• Uninstalling the extension removes all extension storage from your browser.
• CSV files you exported are ordinary files in your Downloads folder; delete them like any other file.

Because nothing is stored on our side, there is no account to close and no deletion request to send us.

iScaleMerch is a business research tool and is not directed at children.

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it. Because the extension collects nothing, we do not expect material changes unless the extension's functionality changes.
